The Lake Ferry Hotel offers food in two categories: bistro and fine dining. The bistro menu is available every day for lunch, and weekday evenings during summer. It features our popular classics such as our world famous fish & chips, buffalo wings, seafood chowder, burgers and home-made pies . These meals are perfect for a family lunch in the sun, or as an accompaniment with a quiet beer or wine as you watch one of our spectacular sunsets.
Our fine dining restaurant is open every Friday and Saturday night, and most nights over the holiday season. Our focus is on unpretentious meals made from fresh, seasonal ingredients; with fresh seafood the star of the show. Depending on the season, you can expect to find fresh New Zealand kaimoana (seafood) such as locally-caught whitebait, whole flounder, Bluff oysters, scallops, hapuka, salmon and paua on the menu. For those who are seafood averse, we also have our 300g rib steak and other non-seafood dishes such as crispy confit duck. Bookings are essential during high-season and long weekends.
